The national Friends of the Poor Walk will take place in Frisco on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Phillips Creek Trails to benefit those living in poverty. The event is sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP), a nonprofit organization that helps the poor in Frisco, Prosper, Little Elm and Celina.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Phillips Creek Trails is located at 355 Stonebrook Parkway, near FM 423 and Stonebrook Parkway, by the Walmart. Free parking is available in the Walmart parking lot, off Stonebrook Parkway.

All proceeds and donations from the event will directly benefit the people served by SVdP. A recommended donation is $25; walkers are encouraged to reach a personal minimum goal of $100. T-shirts will be awarded to registered walkers!
